Question: Is the diploma/Certificate Approved by Government of India/Association of Indian University?

Answer: Yes, Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) although an Autonomous Institute, is an approved Distance Learning Institute by Distance Education Council, Govt. of India.

Question: How many times enrollment takes place in SCDL in a year?

Answer: The enrollment for all Programs except the Certificate Program in Social Laws is only once a year. The Program commencement date for Certificate Program in Social laws is 1st Jan 2010.

Question: Will the Post Graduate Program from SCDL be considered for admission to PhD?

Answer: No, Post Graduate Program will award the student with a Diploma and not a Master's degree, which is a pre-requisite for a PhD.

Question: Is a Post Graduate Program equivalent to receiving a Master’s degree?

Answer: No, Post Graduate Program will award the student with a Diploma and not a Master’s degree.

Question: Does the Program require computer/Internet literacy?

Answer: Yes, basic proficiency in computers and internet is required as all assignments & exams are online. Most of the services students avail are also online.

Question: How can student’s admission status get changed from Provisional to Confirm?

Answer: Students have to submit the required documents within due date to confirm the admission status.

Question: Does SCDL conduct any classes for the Programs offered?

Answer: Yes, SCDL conducts classes/Personal Contact Programs for selected courses. These Personal Contact Programs are scheduled at the end of 1st and 2nd semester.

Question: Which envelop should be used to send admission form?

Answer: Students should send the duly filled admission form in the response envelop provided by SCDL along with the prospectus.

Question: How can I apply for Dual specialization?

Answer: You can apply for dual specialization only if you enroll for PGDBA. For dual specialization fees details, please refer to the prospectus.

Question: How will a student come to know the status of his/her application for admission?

Answer: On receipt of admission form in SCDL, the same will be scrutinized and the admission will be processed (days). Please refer to the prospective student section where admission status will also be available for online viewing.

Answer: Yes, you can send the filled form with the late fee charges. Late admissions are granted with the Director’s approval only.

Question: Can final year student enroll for program?

Answer: For all Programs except single courses, students appearing for final year of their graduation examination may also apply. However, admission will be granted on a provisional basis; on receipt of the Degree or Provisional Certificate, the admission will be confirmed.

Question: What is the admission procedure?

Answer: Students can apply in one of the following two ways:
a) Walk-in Admission Procedure: Walk into SCDL, Pune campus with the completely filled application form, registration fees & all other required documents (for details go to www.scdl.net) If the student satisfies all the eligibility criteria, then the student can walk out with the Admission letter, ID card (for confirmed admission), welcome kit and study kit.
b) Admission procedure by Post: Students can also send the Admission form by post along with the registration fees DD and required documents. If all eligibility criteria are satisfied, then the Admission letter, ID card (for confirmed admissions) along with Welcome Kit is sent to students within 3-4 weeks from the receipt of the form with the documents at SCDL.

Question: Can students take the admission online/can we download the prospectus from the website?

Answer: No, there is no process of online admissions and the prospectus is not available online.

Question: Is there any entrance test or any minimum percentage required to take admission?

Answer: No, there is neither an entrance test nor a percentage criterion to take admission.

Question: What is the evaluation methodology?

Answer: In each Program you are required to appear and pass online assignments & online exams, both are computer based. For certain programs, additionally students are required to submit soft copy/hard copy of the Project. For details of evaluation methodology for each Program or course, please refer to the Prospectus.

Question: What is the pattern of the exams and where will the exams be conducted?

Answer: The exams are online and will be in the form of objective questions. Students should have basic knowledge of using computers such as scrolling up and down, some clicking with mouse, etc.

Question: Where will be the exams conducted?

Answer: The exams are conducted in select Aptech centers all over India. The list of these attests centers is available in the student login.

Question: How do students receive study material? Do they have to pay extra charges other than the fees?

Answer: One set of study material for all semesters is already covered under the Program fees. Study material is dispatched to the student, semester wise at the communication address mentioned on the admission form.
Students can collect study material at the time of walk in admission also.

Question: How can I pay any type of fees?

Answer: For payment of all types of fees, students can send the Demand Draft to SCDL .The DD should be in the name of “TheDirector,SCDL,Pune” ,payable at Pune. Question: What are the additional documents required for NRI students?

Answer: Apart from the Degree/Diploma certificates etc; for NRI / International students foreign address is mandatory with an address proof or copies of passport page showing the foreign country. Please refer to Prospectus for Enclosures with Application.

Question: What will be the Conversion rate if i want to pay fees in indian Rupees instead of US Dollars?

Answer: From Current date, for The International Students(NRI/Outside India Students), to pay program fee and other fees in Indian Rupees instead of in US Dollars, the conversion rate of INR to USD will be Rs. 50 to dollar
