    Question: What does provisional admission mean? What needs to be done to convert it to a confirmed admission?

    Answer: Whenever certain documents like Marriage Certificate, Degree Certificate, Active defence Certificate, Diploma Certificate, Experience Certificate, Photos for ID card are missing along with the form, then the admission is on hold or provisional basis. Provisional admission letter that is sent to the student lists all the documents that are required. All provisionally admitted students are required to send the necessary documents/certificates on or before 20th November 2009, failing which their admission may get cancelled.

    Question: What is the process of cancellation of admission?

    Answer: Students have to send the Admission cancellation application, available in student login for a specified time only with the SLM kit and Admission Letter and/ID sent by SCDL on registration. Only on receipt of the above, the admission cancellation request will be processed. Kindly note that SCDL will not be responsible for postal delays.

    Question: What is the last date to cancel my admission?

    Answer: For Single Courses, the application for cancellation and refund of fees should reach SCDL by 31st July, 2009. For other Programs, last date to receive the request for cancellation of admission is Sept. 11th, 2009.For Certificate Programs in Social Laws, the application for cancellation should reach SCDL by 29th January, 2010. Please refer to Prospectus for details on cancellation of admission and refund of fees policies.

    Question: How to apply for admission reactivation?

    Answer:
    For reactivation of cancelled admission
    Students will be required to pay an additional amount for reactivation of admission as given below:
    Indian Residents - Rs. 3000/-
    NRI/International students – US $300
    Reactivation of admission is subject to fulfillment of all admission requirements and payment of balance fees if any.
    For confirmation of provisional admission
    Students should forward attested copies of documents clearly mentioning their registration number, name & address on each document. All enquiries pertaining to reactivation of admission should be e-mailed to admissionstatus@scdl.net

    Question: What are barcodes?

    Answer: It is the Registration no# Sticker which is to be pasted behind each DD before dispatching it to SCDL.

    Question: Is it compulsory to stick barcode?

    Answer: Yes, barcodes help SCDL identify a student.

    Question: If a student wants extra barcodes, what is the procedure?

    Answer: If a student needs another set of barcodes in future, then he will be required to send duly filled in Service Request Form along with the DD favouring “The Director, SCDL, Pune" for the same along with a written application requesting to issue another set of barcodes. Charges: Rs. 100/- by Hand & Rs. 125/- by Post.

    Question: How to receive a duplicate ID card?

    Answer: For duplicate ID card, student is required to send Rs. 125 demand draft or pay cash Rs. 100 at SCDL cash counter with duly filled in Service Request Form & 2 photographs.

    Question: What are the due dates to pay the program fees?

    Answer: For Single Courses, the last date to pay the course fees is July 15th 2009, for all other Programs student has to pay the 1st Installment by 24th July, 2009 & 2nd installment by 25th Sept 2009. Students can seek admission for Certificate Programs in Social laws in the coming enrollment period but the Program commences from 1st January, 2010.The Program fees for the same should reach SCDL by 4th January, 2010.

    Question: How to make the program fee payments?

    Answer: Students should send a Demand Draft only. The Demand Draft should be in the favour of “The Director, SCDL, Pune” and payable at Pune. The Draft has to be submitted to SCDL, Pune by post or by hand.

    Question: Will the DD be accepted if made after due date?

    Answer: Yes, SCDL will accept late payments till 2nd November, 2009 but with late charges as per the policy. For details on fees schedule & timelines, please refer prospectus.

    Question: Will I get the fee receipt for the program fees paid?

    Answer: Yes. On payment of full program fees, fee receipt will be sent to the students by post.

    Question: Is Credit or Debit card accepted?

    Answer: There is no facility of making payments through credit/debit card. (Except NRI students who can pay Exam fees through Credit/Debit Card).

    Question: What is Suspense Account?

    Answer: The Demand Drafts sent by the students which do not carry any registration number, contact number, etc. are unidentifiable and are accounted in the suspense account. Unidentified Demand Draft's

    Question: How to claim a DD which is reflecting in unidentified DD list on the website of SCDL?

    Answer: Students have to send photocopy of Demand Draft or Letter of encashment from the bank, giving details of Demand Draft Number, Demand Draft Amount and Issuing Bank name to Student Care Department, SCDL, Pune to claim any DD reflecting in the Suspense Account. Students must provide the above details along with Registration #, Name, Address, Telephone Number and the purpose of the Demand Draft (Course Fee, Assignment Fee, etc.) Upon receipt of these documents and identification of your Demand Draft, SCDL will be able to give due credit.

    Question: What is the process to turn-off the pop-up blocker?

    Answer: One will have to open the Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, point to pop-up blocker and then click pop-up blocker setting, here you can turn on or turn off the pop-up blocker. More simple way is installing Google toolbar which has button named ‘Pop-up blocker’ which needs to be turned-off to view the assignment page.

    Question: What are the basic requirement(s) to launch assignment successfully?

    Answer:
    1. Minimum internet speed required 256 Kbps
    2. Pop-up Blocker must be Turn-off
    3.Students (2006 Batch onwards) require to have Macromedia Flash 8.0 Player installed

    Question: What type of Questions come in Assignment?

    Answer:
    There are 5 types of questions in the assignment:
    1. True of False [2 Marks]
    You have to select one correct answer.
    2. Match the following [5 marks for 06/07 batch] & [4 marks for 2008/2009 batch]
    You have to type/select the correct answer in right hand list
    3. Select Multiple Choices [2 Marks]
    You have to click relevant options you feel correct from the given list.
    4. Select Single Options [2 Marks]
    You have to click only one option from the given list.
    5. Fill in the blanks [2 Marks]
    Click on the dropdown box to see the list of words for the blank space. Select correct option.

    Question: Are all questions objective type?

    Answer: Yes, all questions are objective type.

    Question: Are there any negative markings for evaluating the assignments?

    Answer: No, there are no negative markings.

    Question: What happens if I cannot complete all my assignments within the given time period?

    Answer: Your assignment is considered as complete attempt even if you have not answered all the questions.

    Question: When can I see my assignment result?

    Answer: You can see your assignment result immediately after you finish the assignment. You are requested to take the Print of the score card for future reference. To your performance sheet in Student Centre, the score will get updated within 24 hours.

    Question: What would be the final marks considered for an assignment?

    Answer: The highest marks scored in an attempt out of the number of attempts attempted would be considered for any particular assignment.

    Question: In case at the time of exam, student misplaces his ID card; in this case what can he carry as a proof of identity for exams?

    Answer: In this case he can carry his
    •Driving license
    •Voting ID card
    Please note that for all exams, students must carry their hall ticket.

    Question: I have paid only first installment, am I eligible to appear for exams?

    Answer: No, only the students whose full program fees is paid and is reflecting in his/her account are eligible for exams.

    Question: If my admission is provisional, but I have paid full program fees can I appear for the exams?

    Answer: No, you are not allowed to sit for the exams if admission is provisional even if you have paid full program fees.

    Question: Can I change the exam booking centre once booked?

    Answer: Once the bookings are confirmed, any changes in the booked slots are not possible.

    Question: Does the hall ticket need to be attested?

    Answer: No, but you need to paste your passport size photograph on it and need to carry it to the exam centre at the time of appearing for the exam along with your SCDL ID card.

    Question: When would the results be declared?

    Answer: On 10th of every month, the results would be declared in student’s login (Performance sheet) for which you have appeared in the previous month.

    Question: Will I get the mark sheet of the exams that are appeared by me?

    Answer: Yes, you will be sent the hard copy of the exams appeared by post at the end of every semester or 6 monthly. Moreover, the exam results will be declared online in your respective student center’s login ID after you appear for any exams in the next month.

    Question: Can I give the exam for a subject for which I have appeared and cleared OR can I give any improvement exams, for passed but with unsatisfactory marks, for a subject?

    Answer: No, you cannot give any such improvement exams for cleared subjects. It is only in the assignments that the highest marks of the three attempts taken will be considered.

    Question: Can I apply for Re-evaluation for any paper?

    Answer: No, You cannot apply for re-evaluation for any paper.
