Call For Papers

Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished research and recent developments in the topics related to the conference. The conference invites the submission of papers and case studies on any topic mentioned in the list of conference topics and associated areas. Submissions must include title, abstract, keywords, author and affiliation with email address.The manuscript submitted shall be as per the detailed submission guidelines of the conference.
It may be noted that in case there are more than one authors, further correspondence will be done only with the first author.

Theme & Subthemes

The conference will provide a platform to policy makers, distance education providers, educationists and other stakeholders of the different countries to discuss challenges and opportunities in open & distance learning, share best practices and address existing policy gaps.
India has effectively used technology to reach out to its large student base and can therefore offer learning experience to other ODL providers, especially in developing countries.
Keeping the above perspective in view, Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning is organising a 2-day ICDE International Conference in 10 – 11 March 2017 on the theme: Unleashing the potential of ODL–“Reaching the unreached”.


Sub Themes are as follows:


  • Leveraging technology platforms to achieve scalable ODL Models
  • Innovative ODL models utilising MOOCs and OERs. (Success stories/experiences to be shared in the regional context)
  • Emerging technologies and their applications to teaching learning pedagogies – Gamification, Simulations, virtual modelling etc.

  • Exploring possibilities of offering technical courses through ODL.


  • Open and Distance Learning for sustainability in today’s scenario- A Regional perspective (various sustainable models from Asian context to be demonstrated)
  • Promotion of life- long learning for upgrading skills and knowledge to suit the challenges of the global environment.
